Djeco Oven $69.99 CAD (For children 3 +) Djeco's Wooden Kitchen Set is adorable. It's nice quality, and has lots of great detail such as a magnetic pink bar to hold the wooden spoon and spatula, a clock, temperature buttons that turn, salt and pepper shakers, a towel rack, lidded pot and saucepan. My daughter has this and loves it. She is seven years old now and still plays with it almost everyday. |

Plan Cooking Utensils $19.99 CAD (For children 3 +) The company that makes this set is quite interesting because they are very environmentally and socially responsible. Plan Toys are made from rubberwood which comes from rubber trees that no longer produce latex. They aren't sprayed for atleast 3 years before the trees are cut and they use non-toxic, water-based dyes to colour their toys and kiln dry the wood for strength. This particular set includes three cooking pots made of metal and wood, one lid and two cooking spoons. Nice quality and a good company to support. We're having a fundraiser next month where Plan has donated a product of theirs called, Sensory Blocks and we're donating all proceeds from the sale to the Autism Society of Prince Edward Island.

My First Kitchen $84.99 CAD (For children 3 +) We have this little kitchen set up in the store as a demo and it's fantastic. I especially like it because it isn't pink! It's nice to offer variety and a toy that appeals to both girls and boys. Not to say that a boy wouldn't like a pink kitchen set, but it's nice to have choice. This 32 piece set includes pots & pans, utensils, salt & pepper, sliceable bread and veggies, and even a fried egg! It also won Parenting Magazine's Best Toy of the Year 2007. |

Set of six dessert pastries in a sturdy box including doilies for each sweet! This is a perfect gift for a child who loves to play kitchen because it includes unique sweets that fit neatly into their little pink box and sit beautifully on their little white doilies. Too cute! |

Silver Tea Set $54.99 CAD (For children 4 +) This tea set is almost a dream! It's so fancy and just the perfect size for little ones. We had one set up as display in our store window on a child-size wooden table with a table cloth and my daughter could be found playing in the window with the tea set as customers came into the shop! |

Half Dozen Eggs in Carton - Haba $11.99 CAD (For children 3 +) Sometimes simplicity can be the most fun of all. Haba has 6 simple wooden eggs in a cardboard egg carton and something about it just works. Kids like the realistic packaging and it's fun to pretend to crack eggs. |

Birthday Party Tea Set - Djeco $44.99 CAD (For children 3 +) Out of all the items on this list, I think that this set may be my favourite. The all wooden set includes a teapot, tea cups with tea bags, spoons & plates and a sugar dish with sugar cubes! It also comes with a sliced birthday cake with removable candles and a great tray to carry out to the party. It's pretty special!

Wooden Toaster $29.99 CAD (For children 3 +) This Plan Toys Wooden Toaster rocks! It's made from recycled rubberwood like all of the wooden products from Plan Toys, and it's also a lot of fun for kids to place their bread slices into the toaster and then pop the toast up when ready. I like it because it's nicely designed, and interactive. |

Sushi Playfood Set - Melissa & Doug $27.99 CAD (For children 4 +) One of my daughter's favourite foods is sushi, so this toy is a big hit at our house. It's so great to have a playfood set that is a little different than most other playfood sets. It's very cool in that the sushi can velcro together and kids can practice slicing it with the wooden knife that is included. The chopsticks also have velcro so young children can practice picking up the sushi with the sticks.

Garden Fresh Fruits & Veggies $19.99 CAD (For children age 3+) I'm not a great fan of plastic, but iPlay's, Garden Fresh Fruits & Veggies are excellent. They come packaged in a canvas bag for storage (and for using to gather produce at an imaginary market). All of the fruits and vegetable parts are attached with strong velcro that will last, while children peel, chop, and section all of the nutrious goodies. |

My Creative Cookery Club - Educo $119.99 CAD (For children age 3 +) This is a bigger version of Educo's My First Kitchen. It has more accessories, a cupboard, sink, large oven and long legs so it can be placed directly on the floor. I like the gender-neutral colours and the variety of food is fun, such as the sliceable carrot, fried egg and velcro toast that makes a crusty sound when kids "cut" into it with the wooden knife.
